Strong longshore currents can sweep swimmers and surfers into rip currents, piers, jetties and other hazardous areas. In many cases, the longshore current is strong enough to prevent swimmers from being able to keep their feet on the bottom making it difficult to return to shore.

Patches of dense fog, where visibilities are down to a quarter mile or less, are occurring over Delta County early this morning as can be seen on satellite and webcam imagery, as well as local observations. Be sure to provide some extra space to the car in front of you and to have your low-beam headlights on if traveling this morning.
