A rapidly strengthening storm-force low tracks north of Shemya through Monday morning. A strong front will push eastward across the Aleutian Chain starting tonight, reaching Adak by Monday afternoon, and Unalaska by Tuesday morning. This front will bring southerly winds gusting to 60 mph as it sweeps the Chain. Westerly winds will fill in behind the front, gusting as high as 70 mph in Adak Tuesday afternoon, reaching Nikolski by Wednesday morning. Expect storm-force sustained winds to persist near Nikolski through Wednesday morning as the low shifts eastward. Winds diminish later Wednesday as the low center weakens and shifts southeastward.
