Seek shelter inside a well-built structure and stay away from
windows. This storm is capable of producing damaging winds and large
hail.
Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead
to flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
At 1106 AM MST, a severe thunderstorm was located near Sunset Point
Rest Area, or 30 miles southeast of Prescott, moving northeast at 20
mph. This storm is impacting Interstate 17 between Black Canyon City
and Bumble Bee.
HAZARD...Ping pong ball size hail and 60 mph wind gusts.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...People and animals outdoors will be injured. Expect hail
damage to roofs, siding, windows, and vehicles. Expect
wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees.
Locations impacted include...
Sunset Point Rest Area, Horse Thief Basin, Agua Fria National
Monument, Black Canyon City, Bumble Bee, Castle Creek Wilderness
and Cleator.
This includes Interstate 17 between mile markers 246 and 258.
