Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law enforcement and request they pass this information to the National Weather Service when you can do so safely.
* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...A portion of south central Arizona, including the following county, Maricopa. Primarily for the normally dry New River. * WHEN...Until 1045 PM MST. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Rises in small streams and normally dry arroyos. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 743 PM MST, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in New River. Between 0.5 and 1 inch of rain has fallen. - New River is the most likely place to experience minor flooding. This includes the following streams and drainages... Agua Fria River, Cave Creek, Deadman Wash, Skunk Creek, New River and North Canyon Creek. - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
