Do not drive your vehicle into areas where the water covers the roadway. The water depth may be too great to allow your car to cross safely. Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...Portions of the Lower and Middle Keys * WHEN...Until 1115 AM EDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Water over roadways. Overflowing poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 910 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms, in conjunction with seasonal King Tide coastal flooding. Minor flooding is ongoing in the advisory area. Between 2 and 4 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Marathon, West End Of Long Key Viaduct, East End Of Seven Mile Bridge, Duck Key, Conch Key, Boot Key, Knight Key and Key Colony Beach. - This includes US 1 between mile markers 9 and 63. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
