Inexperienced swimmers should remain out of the water due to
dangerous surf conditions.
* WHAT...Hazardous surf of 10 to 14 ft and minor coastal flooding
of 1 to 2 ft.
* WHERE...South, west and north facing reefs of Yap.
* WHEN...Until 5 PM ChST Monday.
* IMPACTS...Flooding of lots, parks, and roads with only isolated
road closures expected. Dangerous swimming and surfing conditions
and localized beach erosion.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...TS Fung-wong is currently north-northwest of
Yap Proper and continues to move northwest. Surf is expected
subside very slowly over the weekend as swell from Fung-wong
decreases. Surf heights could reach dangerous levels of 15 ft if
Fung-wong intensifies faster than currently expected. Increased
surf paired with the King Tide high tide cycles will also result in
minor coastal inundation and increased erosion.
