Inexperienced swimmers should remain out of the water due to dangerous surf conditions.
* WHAT...Hazardous surf of 10 to 14 ft and minor coastal flooding of 1 to 2 ft. * WHERE...South, west and north facing reefs of Yap. * WHEN...Until 5 PM ChST Monday. * IMPACTS...Flooding of lots, parks, and roads with only isolated road closures expected. Dangerous swimming and surfing conditions and localized beach erosion. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...TS Fung-wong is currently north-northwest of Yap Proper and continues to move northwest. Surf is expected subside very slowly over the weekend as swell from Fung-wong decreases. Surf heights could reach dangerous levels of 15 ft if Fung-wong intensifies faster than currently expected. Increased surf paired with the King Tide high tide cycles will also result in minor coastal inundation and increased erosion.
