When water came into Linda Darnell's rental home north of Cromer Elementary, she and her husband started bailing, until the owner called. "She called us and said, 'What are you doing?'" "We're trying to bail the water out," Darnell answered. "And she said, 'just get out of there!'" The Darnells left. The owners rounded up friends and horse trailers the day after the flood to move their tenants.
