Suburb named ’most storm damaged’ in Qld

A suburb in Brisbane’s far west has received the ominous title of the most storm damaged area, a new study shows. Suncorp Group Personal Insurance reviewed personal insurance claims of their southeast Queensland customers from the last three years and found Upper Brookfield was the worst hit area, followed by Dorrington in the inner-west, The Gap, in the west, Coorparoo Heights, in the inner-south, and Herston in the inner-north. Insurance payouts for Upper Brookfield averaged $22,876, $22,650 for Dorrington, $17,155 for The Gap and $12,396 Coorparoo Heights.
