Marysville to install crash-predicting camera system

The city of Marysville is about to take red light cameras to the next level: Instead of just punishing offenders, a new system may actually prevent innocent drivers from being hit by them. Redflex Traffic Systems, which operates most of the red light cameras in California, received approval from the Marysville City Council Tuesday to install a so-called "collision preemption" system at one of the intersections that already has red light cameras.
