9 injured in dump truck crash

Police say it appears a dump truck driver ran a red light, causing a multi-vehicle crash in Hampton Tuesday. Part of Magruder Boulevard was closed for several hours Tuesday because of the crash. The emergency call was received by Hampton dispatch shortly after 10:30 a.m. According to police, the dump truck was traveling southbound on Magruder Blvd. when it swerved to miss oncoming traffic on Butler Farm Road. The truck flipped, lost its load, and struck seven other vehicles that were stopped in the left turn lane.
