Pocono Playhouse owner faces charges for filing false flood insurance claims

Monday, September 26th, 2011 Fraud Liability Litigation

The owner of the former Pocono Playhouse in Barrett Township allegedly filed more than $180,000 in false flood insurance claims at another of his Pennsylvania properties, the Bucks County Playhouse, in 2006. Ralph Miller was charged with wire fraud and money laundering in an indictment filed in federal court in Philadelphia Sept. 1 by the U.S. Attorney’s Office. Before losing the playhouse to a sheriff’s sale last year, Miller had owned the 70-year-old playhouse on the banks of the Delaware River in New Hope for more than 30 years.
