A McDonald’s restaurant sustained over one million dollars in damages Saturday morning after a pick-up truck ordering food caught on fire. Salt Lake City Fire Battalion Chief Gary McCarty says the fire happened at 3:30am at 945 East and 2100 South in Sugar House. The truck was at the drive-up window waiting for food when an electrical fire started in the engine’s heater fan. Within minutes, the fire spread to the attic space above the fast-food restaurant.
