Tree Smashes Into Cleveland Home

 Thursday, December 22, 2011

 Fox 8 Cleveland

This close to Christmas many people are thinking about trees in their homes, but for one local family it was unwanted. "No, not at all," Jeanie McCalet said after a tree smashed through the front of her Cleveland home. Tuesday afternoon all was quiet in the McCalet home on East 144th Street in Cleveland when they had an uninvited house crasher. "We were in the back room and next thing you know we heard a boom," McCalet said. A spokeswoman for Dominion East Ohio said they had a contractor working in the street out front digging to put in a gas line, when they mistakenly dug up the roots of the tree.
