DE LUZ: House fire leads to arson, attempted murder charges

A 55-year-old businessman arrested on suspicion of setting fire to his home in the De Luz area west of Temecula was charged Thursday, Dec. 06, with arson, attempted murder and insurance fraud, court records show. Ronnie Duvall James, 55, was arrested shortly after the Oct. 23 fire at the house in the 26700 block of Camino Seco. Firefighters contained the blaze to one bedroom of the large, gated hilltop home. James was booked into jail and released the next day on $50,000 bond. He is charged with arson, two counts of attempted murder, burglary and making a fraudulent insurance claim, Riverside County court record show. James is scheduled for arraignment Dec. 20 at the Southwest Justice Center in French Valley.
