Former North Dakota insurance commissioner injured in crash, another man killed

The North Dakota Highway Patrol has identified a man killed in a crash in Mandan on Monday as Thomas L. Joblinski of Mandan. Jim Poolman, a former legislator and state insurance commissioner, sustained serious injuries in the crash and is scheduled to have surgery on Friday. Joblinski, 68, was driving a pickup on Main Street at 3:10 p.m. Monday, when the pickup crossed a concrete lane divider and struck a sport utility vehicle, then struck a van. The patrol said it happened at the intersection of Sixth Avenue and Main Street.
Poolman, 43, was the driver of the SUV. The driver of the van, 51-year-old Norberto Dejesus Montero of Mandan, was not injured.
