 Monday, February 17, 2014

All lanes of the Pennsylvania Turnpike have reopened following a series of crashes on Friday morning that involved 75 to 100 vehicles and left 30 people injured. The crashes began around 8:30 a.m. Friday with a 25-car pileup near the Route 1 exit for Bensalem. From there, more and more cars were involved after cars crashed in the backlog. State Police Capt. Greg Bacher said on Action News that the cause of the crash appears to be weather-related, but it was not yet known exactly how it all started.
