A freak accident happened at the Mesa Arts Center on Sunday. A 61-year-old woman was rushed to a hospital after falling 25 feet into a utility vault. She was standing on a metal grate when it collapsed beneath her feet.
The woman had barely stepped onto a metal grate at the Mesa Arts Center when it tipped over around 6 p.m. The small corner of the metal grate is what gave way, the space just big enough for the 61-year-old woman to fall through. We’re told she fell 25 feet into a utility vault. The 61-year-old is a tourist from Germany.
