Six people were killed as tropical storm Trudy — since downgraded to a tropical depression — lashed Mexico, prompting evacuations and stranding 16 communities, authorities said Sunday. The heavy rains caused a landslide on a farm in the indigenous town of Tlacoachistlahuaca in the southern state of Guerrero, killing a 23-year-old man, a civil protection official told local media. Two children and a woman were crushed to death when a wall collapsed in a mudslide in Ometepec; another person was buried in Cochoapa by a caved-in wall; and a swollen stream swept away and killed a 70-year-old man, officials said.
