Flooding at Universal’s Orlando Resort Causes Injuries, Evacuations

Two people were injured and several guests were evacuated from Universal‘s Cabana Bay Resort on Tuesday morning, according to the Orlando Fire Department. Fire officials said a water heater ruptured and caused hot water to flood several rooms on the first floor of the hotel just after 4 a.m. Two guests were taken to Dr. Phillips Hospital with minor burns, officials said. The weight of the water also caused pieces of dry wall to collapse in a breezeway, fire officials said. No one was injured by the collapsed dry wall.
