Multiple Crashes Shut Down New York Parkway

Two separate crashes involving 17 cars stopped traffic on the southbound Saw Mill River Parkway in Mount Kisco at the height of rush hour, police said. The roadway was closed for about two and a half hours while 14 vehicles were towed from the scene, police said. The Westchester County police reopened the southbound lanes around 9:20 a.m.
The crashes occurred shortly after 6:40 a.m. south of Route 133. Westchester County police said that one car overturned and another car nearby crashed. Minor injuries were reported. Traffic on state Route 133 remains snarled in both directions as a result of the crashes.
