An 85-year-old man was killed in Sumter County Tuesday morning in a golf cart crash, Florida Highway Patrol said.
Troopers said Francis Hughes died at Villages Regional Hospital after being involved in a crash with a minivan while on his golf cart. According to the report, Hughes was driving southbound on Morse Boulevard in the golf cart path when he attempted to make a left turn on Fuentez Avenue and traveled into the path of the minivan.The minivan struck the passenger side of the golf cart and pushed it north in the southbound lanes of Morse Boulevard.
