West Virginia House Leadership Appoints Committee On Premises Liability Bill

Wednesday, February 11th, 2015 Legislation & Regulation Liability Litigation Workers' Compensation

When it comes to Senate Bill 13, which would reinstate the "open and obvious clause" for premises liability, the West Virginia House of Delegates and Senate don’t agree. After receiving a report on the House floor during the Feb. 9 floor session that the Senate did not concur with the House on the changes, House leadership appointed a conference committee composed of delegates and senators to reach a compromise. House Bill 2011, which relates to deliberate intent under workers compensation, was read a third time but there was no vote on the measure.
