A pickup truck slammed into a utility pole and a house early Wednesday, a fire official said. No one was injured. The crash happened shortly after 2 a.m., at the intersection of Route 74 and Kollar Road, said Tom Snyder, chief of the Willington Hill Fire Department. The area was closed to traffic while utility crews fixed the downed pole. The resident was not injured because he was on the other side of the house at the time, Snyder said; still, he was shaken by the close call. The collision was so loud, a neighbor called 911 and reported hearing an explosion, he said.
