Deputy In Rollover Crash While Responding To Robbery Call

Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office dispatchers said an officer-involved accident was reported Sunday night. Dispatchers said officials were called to East Pearl Street at East Wood Street just before 10 p.m.Lt. Kevin Bobo with the sheriff’s office said a deputy was responding to reports of a robbery at the Family Dollar on Asheville Highway when the patrol car was struck by a civilian motorist in a Dodge Charger. Bobo said the patrol vehicle overturned, but the deputy was properly restrained and only suffered a few minor cuts to his head. The driver of the other vehicle did not require medical attention.
