The U.S. Coast Guard rescued four men from a sinking fishing boat in the Gulf of Alaska, plucking the vessel’s crew members out of the rough seas onto a helicopter precariously hovering above the wreckage. The men were clinging to the side of the 80-foot fishing boat Kupreanof when the Coast Guard helicopter, from Air Station Sitka, arrived. A video of the rescue shows waves pounding the boat as the men, wearing immersion survival suits to protect against hypothermia, evacuated and climbed into a rescue raft with the help of a Coast Guard diver.
