Loose Cattle Cause Traffic Accidents In Florida

 Tuesday, September 8, 2015

Cattle caused at least three separate crashes early Tuesday morning in Volusia County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. Troopers said in all three accidents, the vehicles hit cows in the roadway near Cucumber Lane, which is just west of New Smyrna Beach. No people were seriously injured in the crashes, but four cows were killed, officials said. The cattle owner said the cows add up to approximately $20,000, which is a major loss to the Whispering Palms Farms. It is unclear how the cattle escaped the farm, but the owner said they are still looking for nine more.
