Nearly 400 Accidents Across Minnesota During First Major Snowfall

The first snow storm of the season for some parts of Minnesota, did not go smoothly for motorists. As of 9 p.m. Thursday, the Minnesota State Patrol reported nearly 400 crashes on state roads, with 37 people left injured. Two people were killed — one on Highway 42 near Elgin in Olmsted County and another on a frontage road roundabout near the intersection of Interstate 494 and Highway 169 in Eden Prairie. Wence Edwards of was among the drivers who found himself in the ditch, after hitting a slippery spot on Highway 169 south of Belle Plaine.
