A tree came down on a car on the Historic Columbia River Highway near the Stark Street Bridge trapping a woman in the car. Emergency crews were at the scene shortly after 5 p.m. Tuesday. Deputies said the driver had just turned south onto the highway from the bridge in Troutdale when the tree fell across the center of her car, crushing the top of it. Firefighters managed to rescue her from the car and the woman was taken to the hospital. She was believed to be conscious and alert at the scene.
