Passenger In Vehicle With Drunk Driver Impaled By Fence Post

Friday, May 13th, 2016 Auto Liability

A crash caused by a suspected drunken driver led to his passenger being impaled by a fence post. On Wednesday at around 1:30 a.m., 34-year-old Ryan Matson of Cornville was arrested for failure to remain at an accident scene, DUI, endangerment, and criminal damage following a single vehicle crash. The Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office believes that earlier, Matson crashed his BMW convertible sedan, then fled the scene. Matson’s passenger remained in the vehicle, injured. Officials say there was a 1-inch pipe impaled through his chest.
