High School Football Player Dies From Misdiagnosed Game Injury

The Euclid football player who died two days after Friday’s game against Solon died from an injury to his abdomen, the medical examiner said on Tuesday. Andre Jackson, 17, died of a small bowel laceration due to a blunt impact, according to a release from the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner. The laceration caused inflammation of his small bowel that turned deadly, the medical examiner said. He was rushed to University Hospitals Medical Center Friday after suffering an undisclosed injury during the game. Jackson was brought to UH’s Ahuja Medical Center and released Saturday morning, hospital officials said.
