UPS Sued Over Pedestrian’s Death In Crosswalk

Wednesday, October 12th, 2016 Liability Litigation

A Chicago area family has filed a wrongful death suit against UPS, two months after a truck hit and killed a 78-year-old woman in the Sauganash neighborhood. “They’re grief-stricken and having a lot of trouble dealing with it,” said Brion Doherty, the attorney representing the family of Mayya Medovaya. “Miss Medovaya was extremely important to her daughter, her grandchildren and the community in which she lived.” Doherty has filed a negligence lawsuit against UPS, after Medovaya was struck and killed by a parcel truck around 5 p.m. on Aug. 22, as she was crossing Peterson Avenue at Central Park Avenue.
