Whiteout conditions are believed to have caused a 25 vehicle pile-up Wednesday afternoon on southbound U.S. 131 near 2 Mile Road in Osceola County. Osceola County Undersheriff Justin Halladay said in a release that around 2 p.m. Wednesday deputies responded to a crash on the expressway near 2 Mile Road. Due to blowing snow that caused a whiteout, Halladay said conditions caused several other vehicles to then become involved in a multiple vehicle crash while attempting to avoid the original crash. This chain reaction pile-up crash involved approximately 25 vehicles including two tractor-trailers. There were two individuals transported from the scene by EMS.
