Parents Of New York Helicopter Crash Victim File Lawsuit

Thursday, March 15th, 2018 Excess & Surplus Lines Liability Litigation

The parents of one of the victims of Sunday’s deadly helicopter crash in New York’s East River have filed a lawsuit against the operator of the company, saying the harness their son wore on the flight prevented him from escaping. Dallas residents Jerry and Nancy Cadigan filed the suit Tuesday in New York State Supreme Court after their son, Trevor Cadigan, a 26-year-old journalist living in New York City, died in the crash. Kearny, N.J.-based Liberty Helicopters and the pilot of the helicopter, Richard Vance, are among those named in the lawsuit. Mr. Vance survived the crash.
