One person is dead and three others were sent to the hospital after a chain-reaction crash between two tractor-trailers and five vehicles Saturday on westbound I-70 in Terre Haute. About 9:57 a.m. Saturday, Indiana State Police Trooper Brian Thomas was at mile marker 10 assisting with slow traffic from a previous accident when he saw a 2018 Peterbilt tractor-trailer driven by a 70-year-old man of Saint-Charles- Borromee, Quebec, traveling westbound on I-70 in the passing lane. According to a news release, the driver of the tractor-trailer did not see that traffic had slowed down or stopped due the earlier accident, and he struck a 2008 GMC Yukon that was pulling a recreational trailer and was stopped in the passing lane.
