6 Sent to Hospital After Boat Explosion In Md.

Six people, including six children, were sent to the hospital after a boat explosion in Edgewater on Monday morning. The explosion happened at approximately noon at Oak Grove Marine Center at 2820 Solomons Island Road, says Division Chief Keith Swindle with the Anne Arundel County Fire Department. Swindle said that nine people, three adults and six children, were aboard a 32-foot Well Craft boat. According to Swindle, after refueling the boat tried to move away from the dock when one of the engines stalled. Officials said an attempt to restart the engine caused an explosion and fire.
