Auto shop owner cops plea to insurance-fraud scheme

A New Jersey man who prosecutors say was the mastermind behind a $300,000 insurance-fraud scheme pleaded guilty to seven counts this week before Judge James Bradley. Phillip Daniel Sessa, of Ventnor, N.J., pleaded guilty to corruption organization, insurance fraud, conspiracy, theft by deception, receiving stolen property and criminal use of a communications facility, which collectively carry a maximum penalty of 62 years in prison and $115,000 in fines.
