Calif. Wildfire Closes Freeway, Threatens Homes
Thursday, October 6th, 2005 Catastrophe PropertyA large wildfire in California that erupted on Wednesday afternoon threatened about 100 homes in a sparsely populated area about 60 miles east of Los Angeles where authorities closed the 60 Freeway near San Timoteo Canyon after motorists passed within yards of a huge wall of flames. According to fire captain Jason Neuman, the blaze is only 5% contained and about 20 homes have been evacuated.
