Category 3 Hurricane John Threatens West Coast Of Mexico

Thursday, August 31st, 2006 Catastrophe Property

Hurricane John is moving west-northwest at around 15 mph/hr. On this track John is expected to remain off Mexico’s Pacific Coast, but the storm is large enough that hurricane force winds and heavy rains can be expected to create damage along the coast. Although they infrequently touch land, the Pacific Ocean does have hurricanes and experts are reminding people that John is a bad one. However, according to the NHC’s 5-day forecast, once John touches the tip of the Baja Peninsula it should veer off into the Pacific, and pose no further threat to any land areas.
