Data Standard Effort For Claims Launched
Monday, January 8th, 2001 TechnologyA joint initiative among several organizations—including the Risk and Insurance Management Society, ACORD and the Insurance Data Management Association—has been announced to move data standards development into the claims area, the groups said. The effort will be advanced at a two-day conference in March that will include third-party administrators, underwriters, brokers and risk managers, according to Jack Hampton, executive director of New York-based RIMS. A location and exact date for the conference have not yet been announced. Mr. Hampton said the purpose of the conference will be to discuss data standards for claims management, a topic he described as "elusive."
