While most businesses view employee educational benefits as a good retention tool, few employees take advantage of the programs, a survey by the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans shows. In a just released survey by Brookfield, Wis.-based IFEBP, 89 percent of companies responding to the survey said the program is useful in recruiting and retaining employees. The random survey of 114 IFEBP members was conducted over a one- year period, said Larry Aarhus, research associate and author of the report. According to the survey, of the 114 responding employers, 89 percent (101 respondents) offered some form of educational benefit to their employees.
