
Former USC receiver Marqise Lee sued Lloyds of London on Wednesday, immediately after his attempt to collect on a $4.5 million insurance claim was denied on grounds he misled insurers about his injury history. Lee, once a first-round prospect, secured a then-unusual $5 million loss-of-value insurance policy in August 2013 to cover him in case an injury hurt his draft stock. He then suffered an MCL sprain in his left knee in September, missed three subsequent games and played hurt in others, and wound up the Jacksonville Jaguars second-round pick as the 39th overall selection in the 2014 NFL draft.
