Family of student who drowned after falling from Ala. riverboat files lawsuit

Relatives of a University of Alabama student who drowned after falling from the Bama Belle riverboat during a 2012 sorority party have filed a wrongful death lawsuit. Tre’ Jones family is seeking at least $10 million in damages from the then-Bama Belle owners, the sorority and a security company that staffed the party. Jones drowned in the Black Warrior River after falling from the riverboat during Delta Sigma Theta’s spring party two years ago.
