Fleet Safety Management

Wednesday, July 11th, 2001 Auto Technology

“Go ahead and hit me,” reads one car bumper-sticker, “I need the money.” This quip reflects the tendency in today’s litigious society to pursue claims or lawsuits from any and every fender-bender. For businesses and organizations with vehicles out on the roads, the risk of financial loss from accidents and collisions is staggering. One way to curb these costs may lie within three feet of a driver’s right hand — in the vehicle’s glove compartment — in the form of an accident investigation kit. Such kits can be key components in a company’s risk management program as applied to fleet vehicle safety. If a company or organization has a fleet of company cars, trucks or motor vehicles, it should consider equipping them with accident investigation kits. These are often called glove-box kits.
