In a mid-morning update, Gainesville Police said there were 10, possibly 12, vehicles involved in a traffic accident on Ga. 60/Queen City Parkway that sent several people to the hospital this morning. One of the vehicles was a tractor trailer. Queen City Parkway in the area West Ridge Road was closed throughout most of the late morning, but officials reopened it around 1 p.m. "There were multiple injuries with one being very serious," Gainesville Fire Department Division Chief Keith Smith. "She [the seriously injured person] was trapped in that vehicle after the fuel tanker/tractor trailer truck rear-ended her vehicle and basically wedged her vehicle between the tractor trailer and the vehicle that was in front of it."
