Hailstorm, Low Visibility Were Contributing Factors In Pileup In New Mexico

Thursday, May 24th, 2018 Auto Liability

A pileup on southbound Interstate 25 between Eldorado and mile marker 286 closed the highway for hours Tuesday evening and sent three people to a hospital. According to Lt. Elizabeth Armijo of New Mexico State Police, the crash happened around 5:30 p.m. Heavy downpours caused low visibility, Armijo said, adding that the official cause is under investigation.
Nine vehicles crashed, Armijo said and three people were taken to Christus St. Vincent Regional Medical Center. The extent of the injuries was unknown Tuesday night.
