Historic Flooding Threat Intensifies Across Central US After Devastating Storms and Tornadoes

Communities across the central United States are facing a new round of extreme weather, just days after a powerful storm system unleashed dozens of tornadoes. Now, a widespread and potentially historic flooding event is threatening the region, with forecasters warning of catastrophic consequences due to relentless rainfall. The Mississippi Valley is currently experiencing a level 4 out of 4 risk for excessive rainfall—an uncommon designation typically reserved for major hurricanes.
