Hurricane Supply Tax Holiday To Save Fla. Consumers $9.3 M
Tuesday, May 24th, 2005 Catastrophe PropertyHB 6001 was signed into law yesterday by Florida governor Jeb Bush. The state’s first 12 day sales tax holiday permits Floridians to purchase a wide variety of hurricane supplies and may save residents more than $9.3 million dollars. The law gives purchasers a window from June 1st to June 12th where they can buy a variety of supplies without having to pay the state’s 6% sales tax.
