Judge to appoint ‘master’ to oversee expanding Mamtek lawsuit

A special master will be appointed to handle the complex issues of an expanding lawsuit stemming from the 2011 collapse of the Mamtek factory project in Moberly, Circuit Judget Patricia Joyce ruled Monday morning. Joyce, after hearing attorneys argue for more than two hours in the multi-sided case of Shelter Insurance Cos. v. Morgan Keegan, said she did not have time for all the detailed work required to keep the case moving toward a scheduled trial early next year.
