Jury awards $1 million in damages to fired W.Va. nurse

A Kanawha County jury awarded a little more than $1 million to a former Thomas Hospital nurse who asserts she was wrongly fired after expressing concerns of possible safety violations and Medicare fraud. Susan Nutter, represented by attorney Marvin Masters, filed her lawsuit in August 2011 against Herbert J, Thomas Memorial Hospital Association and Diamond Healthcare Corp.
