Jefferson County Public Schools administrators have launched an investigation after a bus dragged a small child at least 100 feet Friday afternoon in Valley Station. A girl, who is either 5 or 6 years old, was getting off of JCPS bus No. 0148 from Wilkerson Elementary School around 4 p.m. Friday when her backpack got stuck in the door, Louisville Metro Police spokesman Dwight Mitchell said. Police said the bus dragged the child about 100 feet, yet neighbors described the distance as being at least a football field, between a former liquor store on Johnsontown Road and the 6600 block of Morning Star Way.
